Australia’s first mini excavator park, DIG IT, is the latest adventure drawcard located within Thunderbird Park. Prepare yourself for real excavator machinery and construction inspired activities where the YOU are IN the driver’s seat! Fully instructed fun for all ages. You don’t need any experience, or even a driver’s license – just a willingness to give it a go!
Dig IT is an incredibly fun and safe experience. We take the health and safety of our guests and staff very seriously. From the moment you arrive you’ll be made to feel comfortable and at-ease by our friendly, experienced team.
You will begin with a safety lesson in our “Site Safety Induction Zone” prior to your experience, and all activities are fully supervised. During our safety briefing, your instructor will walk you through everything you need to know to operate your machinery safely.
We have strict health and safety policies, including age restrictions.
Safety is paramount at Dig IT Tamborine Mountain.
Dig IT is fun for the whole family, from our budding young diggers who love machines, to their parents who want to join the fun, almost everyone can get involved. We do however have a couple of rules in place to make sure your experience is a safe one.
Our mini diggers (aged 4 and under) can participate but will have to from the safety of their guardian’s laps. Please note that there is no charge for their guardian helper.
We also have also added two (2) free play areas for our mini diggers to let loose in too, including a large sand pit DIG ZONE and an additional CONSTRUCTION / BUILDING ZONE, for lots of digging and building fun.
Kids aged 5 and up will be able to operate the machines by themselves (some might need a bit of extra help) but they will be IN the driver’s seat.
Also just know that its not just the kids having all the fun on our machines, adults are getting into the Dig IT action too, and having a ball too!
Participants must have a good comprehension of spoken English – you and your instructor must be able to communicate with one another throughout your time on the field.

All of our session are capped in regards to numbers, so to avoid disappointment we suggest booking in advance.

On arrival all our diggers will be kitted out in a high-vis vests and hard hats.
Dig IT is an outdoor experience, so we suggest casual dressing for the season, but the cabs can get pretty toasty in summer, so hats, sunscreen and water are recommended.
Closed in shoes are a MUST!
Spectators are more than welcome – Dig IT Tamborine is a crowd-pleaser! There is no cost to come and watch all the digging fun.
Only registered diggers can operate the machines but the Dig IT site is huge, there are heaps of great viewing vantage points, we also have some shaded viewing areas along with seating for guests to enjoy.
We recommend that everyone brings water and sunscreen etc as Dig IT is an outdoor activity.
Please remember that closed in shoes are a MUST.
The admission price for all our Dig IT diggers is $59 per participant, and $55 for concession card holders (government issued) .

If you are an adult that wants to join in with all the fun too, the cost of $59 or $55 for concession card holders applies aswell.
No. Only those using the machines need to purchase a ticket.

Thunderbird Park has a strict no picnicking policy. Our Dig IT guests are welcome to purchase food from the Terrace Kiosk and bring it to the Dig IT site to enjoy in the shaded viewing platform.
Another option is to enjoy lunch at the Rainforest Restaurant or the Terrace Kiosk after your session.
Dig IT is open every weekend during the school terms, and then 7 days a week over the QLD school holidays. There will be four (4) two-hour sessions operating each day commencing at 8.30am and with the last session finishing at 4.30pm.

On arrival all guests check in at the Dig IT site office for registration then all Dig IT diggers receive their high vis vest and hard hat to use during their session, and the fun begins!
They will then move to the Site Safety Induction Zone where they will be taken through the safety components of the day and learn about the challenges and activities that they are about to do with the Dig IT machines by our experienced and trained staff.
There are four (4) challenge zones to conquer.
THE DIG ZONE – Get trained on a 1.7 tonne excavator, digging in the earth.
THE DEMO ZONE – The challenge is to use the wrecking ball to knock over the Dig IT towers with a BANG!
THE CLAW & CROC ZONE – In this zone there are two challenges, stacking and moving tyres with our HUGE claw attachment and, again with a 1.7 tonne excavator, using precision our diggers will be trying to hook a floating crocs!
THE RC ZONE – Using state of the art remote control machines like dozers, dump trucks, excavators and rear loaders the kids will get to use machines, just like on the work site. So much fun to be had!
At the completion of each challenge all of our Dig IT Diggers will get their induction card marked, meaning at the end of their session they have been fully inducted into the Dig IT worksite!
A keepsake they can then take home with them, along with the memories of the day they conquered Dig IT Tamborine Mountain!

Everyone can have fun at Dig IT, young and old. Children 4 and under can participate in all the fun too from the safety of a parent or guardian’s lap with their help and guidance. There is no cost for their guardian helper.

Arriving for your session at Dig IT….
We request all guests arrive 30 mins prior to their session.
If a participant arrives late for their scheduled session time, Dig IT will make all reasonable efforts to accommodate the participant in the next available session that day. If this is not possible, Dig IT will provide the participant with a voucher to use for a future visit within the next 12 months, subject to availability.
Please take into consideration local traffic conditions when planning your trip.
Cancellation Policy: For cancellations made with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled booking, guests are entitled to a full refund. In case of cancellations made within 48hours before and 8 am on the morning of the booking, a voucher will be issued to the guest, allowing them to reschedule and enjoy our services at any time within the next 3 years. Please note that a $10 admin fee applies.

Thunderbird Park, where Dig IT is located, is accessible, with disabled toilets available for guests’ convenience.
Rain Policy: Your safety and comfort are our priority. Dig IT does operate in the rain. We have shelters around the Dig IT site and complimentary loan umbrellas that are available for guests to use.
In the event of heavy rain or storms, Dig IT operations will be temporarily suspended. For bookings affected by adverse weather conditions, vouchers will be promptly provided, granting you the flexibility to experience the excitement of Dig IT at a later date. We believe in providing you with the best possible experience, rain or shine.
However please note that if management has had to make the decision to close a session due to unsafe conditions, an opportunity for a refund is available, if a voucher isn’t suitable.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RC ZONE DOES NOT OPERATE IN THE RAIN.
Terms and Conditions: DigIT Birthday Party Package Competition
- The DigIT Birthday Party Package Competition (“Competition”) is organized by DigIT Tamborine Mountain (“Organizer”) and is open to all individuals aged 18 and above, except employees of the Organizer and their immediate family members.
- The Competition will run from April 28, 2024, to May 31, 2024 (“Competition Period”). Entries received outside of this period will not be eligible for participation.
- To enter the Competition, participants must be a paid attendee of the DigIT experience during the month of May 2024. Bookings made for sessions in May will be considered valid entries.
- Bookings made in the competition period for months excluding May do not count in this competition. Entries only count for attendees within the month of May 2024.
- Bookings with multiple attendees will be counted as multiple entries under the billing name.
- By entering the Competition, participants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and any decisions made by the Organizer, which are final and binding.
- This competition is not in affiliation with Meta or any other party.
The winner of the Competition will be selected via a random draw conducted by the Organizer on June 1, 2024. The winner will be notified via the contact details provided at the time of booking.
The prize for the Competition is a DigIT birthday party package, valued at $621. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternative.
The Organizer reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event that the original prize becomes unavailable for any reason.
The winner may be required to participate in publicity activities related to the Competition, including but not limited to the use of their name and photograph for promotional purposes, without any additional compensation.
By entering the Competition, participants grant the Organizer the right to use their personal information for the purposes of administering the Competition and contacting the winner.
The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who is found to have breached these Terms and Conditions or tampered with the entry process.
The Organizer accepts no responsibility for any entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, or incomplete, or for any technical problems or malfunctions that may affect the availability or accessibility of the Competition.
